1930s Living Room
Period Elements Project
In this project, I created a realistic three-wall set depicting a period living room interior in a television studio. Identify all aspects of interior design and architecture that visually represent the 1930s period through in-depth research for the design.
1930s Art Deco Architecture Characteristics
In general, 1930s house style were electic mix of old and new. There were 3 main kinds of houses: Mock Tudor, Neo Georgina, and Art Deco (Moderne).
Open plan designs were on trend. Houses' owners tried to make their places lighter than those before. Arts and Crafts designers had begun the process of clearing out the gloom and the clutter of Victorian interiors in the late 19th century but it was not until after the First World War that their bright and open creations began to affect mass markets.

Dancer, choreographer, and teacher. she is an important figure in the development of modern dance in Britain, providing a thorough aesthetic education to some of the teachers and lecturers who, from the 1940s, were instrumental in establishing Laban-based modern dance in British teacher training colleges and schools.

3 things
should be
improved
1. Colour
The colour palette of 1930s interiors was not well emphasized. It would have been ideal if browns and creams had been given more space.
2. Table and sofa set
I had difficulty building the table and sofa in keeping with the art deco style of the 1930s. The elements which appear in the design are not well known to be part of that period.
3. Decoration prop
To bring the feeling of a living space, there should be more furniture and decorative objects on the table and wall.
